All the President's Men

1. Bob Woodward had to gather sources from different newspapers, articles, etc.

2. I think it was very difficult and time consuming to gather information for a news story. Journalists would have to find a source or quote and than conform it many times with many different people to make sure it was right. It was time consuming but readers could rely on the fact that the stories were true.

3. He had to be careful because if Deep Throat knew someone was around he wouldn't give out any information and both of them would be in trouble.

4. He had to use a phone book.

5. That means it was an important story but not to important to be in bold or high lighted as a top story.

6. He was able to trick him into revealing or confessing the information.

7. He was a lawyer and was head of the sabotage campaign.

8. They needed so many people to conform the information so people knew it was a reliable source of information or article to read and believe.

9. People who say they "love this country" and are nervous to publish newspaper articles may say and do this because they don't want to cause any major upsets. They don't want to be the reason why there is a major debate forcing people to pick sides or creating a war.

10. The end result was the publishing of the article and President Nixon stepping down from office.

Movie Questions 4/7/15

1. The CBS executives and journalists were so hesitate about questioning Senator McCarthy because they didn't want to defy the corporate and sponsorship pressures.


2. Methods Murrow and the other journalists use in their first story against McCarthy was defending Milo Radulovich by making a show of McCarthy attacking him.


3. McCarthy's appearance on Murrow's program lacked contextualization  and his actions seemed undetermined and over dramatic.  In my opinion it did not look like a positive look for McCarthy. It made him look crazy and not the best kind of leader.




4. Murrow's schedule got changed on CBS program because he had to get censored on his shows.


5. The "downfall of television" is being referred to the outcomes of situations. Even when they are telling the truth or keeping something a secret it will get discovered or punished for it.


6. What ended up happening to McCarthy was  he got censored for being on television.


7. Murrow's speech at the beginning and the end of the television show was about how television can be used as a tool.
