Fitchburg health teacher gets 2½ years for seducing student

In this article, a former health and sex education teacher, Rachelle N. Gendron at North Central Essential Charter School in Fitchburg was sentenced to jail Friday. She pleaded guilty to enticing and raping one of her 14 year old male students. She is under probation and undergo sex offender counseling and a mental health evaluation and any related treatment recommended by the Probation Department. She is also ordered not to contact the victim and no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 16 and must wear a GPS monitoring device. The situation all started when a student of Miss. Gendron told her he felt alone. She wanted to try and help him but it went to far. She is really wishes she could take everything back.

After reading this article I didn't really feel surprised. I feel like hearing this situation isn't that common anymore. Usually it involves a male teacher with a female student so having the positions switch is a little strange. It's a little uncomfortable that this went on for three years and the child never complained or said anything about it. That part makes me feel a little suspicious. It's sad that it has come to the idea that a teacher seducing students isn't that strange to hear about anymore.

Schools keep an eye on students' social media

In this article it discusses how Superintendent of Worcester Public Schools Melinda Boone does monitor student's social media sites. Some students find this unfair that they're being "stalked" or they're privacy is being invaded. While other students don't have a problem with higher authority watching their social media. They felt if you don't say anything negative than you don't have anything to hide. By doing this there is hope that they can monitor and try to prevent any violence in the school.

After reading this I have no problem letting authority to track of my social media sites. I mean if you let your friends and others see your social media sites than why not adults and higher authority? There is no need to say anything bad on the internet. Whatever you say it will never go away. Maybe by keeping track of social media sites there could be less fights and get ahead start on stopping any violence that may happen.

Student hurt in another fight at North; principal assaulted at separate city school

In this article it discusses the fight that happened at North High School on Wednesday. After this fight the district decided to add more  police security in the school for safety purposes. The fight was between two female students in which one went to the hospital for a broken nose.  The fight was not the only fight that happened in the district on Friday. There was a fight at Reach and Challenge Academy where the principal there got assaulted trying to break up the fight between two female students. There has been a lot of recent fights at North lately and they hope that with more police security it will help out the situation.

From reading this article I feel that it is really crazy that there was yet another fight at North. There seems to be a crazy amount of fights and bomb threats that seem to be happening. I do hope that with more police security it will do the trick in decreasing the amount of fights. Students need to be learning and not be interrupted with the consistent fights. It just seems so weird to think this is happening at an Inter- High School. I do hope the best for the school and the safety of the students.
